Hello Mike -

No, I haven't forgotten you, but over here they keep us so damn busy that I seldom have time to write the family, to say nothing of anyone else.  But now I am back in a rest area for a few days with my outfit.  They have been without rest for a long time, but I can sure use one too, even though I haven't been here as long.

They have everything here to make us forget there is a war on.  Movie shows, hot meals, clean clothes, showers, passes to town dances, etc.  It's a lot of fun after what we've been through.

I have seen a lot of Europe ; Scotland, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and now Germany.  Some of it is nice  country but all I want is to see good old Upstate New York.  That's good enough for me, and as soon as we can lick these #@%@ over here , I am going to make tracks in that direction and stay there.

Keep things going over on that side of the ocean and do all you can to stay there.  I wouldn't wish this life on anyone.  It's no fun, believe me.

So long for this time.  Write again some time and I will try and find the time to answer it.

Good luck,

Elmo
