biography:

I was born and raised in Union County, New Mexico. I joined the WAAC March 22, 1943, in Oklahoma City. After basic, I was stationed at Camp Campbell Kentucky. Two of us were ordered to Santa Fe, New Mexico on April 4th. From there we were going overseas, we thought. We found out soon enough we were going to "the hill". I'm proud I was selected to go there and it was a rewarding experience. My husband, Albert,(82nd Airborne) was sent home after being wounded three times and then sent to Los Alamos. We were married in June 1945. My husband was in the Air Force and retired. I retired from Civil Service. We retired in Montana our last duty station. I have two children, daughter and family in Hot Springs and son and family in Great Falls, Montana. My husband passed away in October 2003 and I live in Hot Springs.
