J. Frank Suazo
responsibilities:
This is being prepared by Frank's son, Sostenes. Frank died in May 1994.
My father started working in the kitchen, which prepared food for the
scientists. From there he was tasked as a painter, upgrading or
finishing various rooms, within the labs. After that he was tasked as a
janitor for the scientists offices, including Oppenheimer's.
mp-contribution:
Keeping the scientists and staff fed.
Keeping the scientists and staff offices appealing.
Keeping their offices and facilities clean.
mp-experience:
Eating lunch with Dr. Oppenheimer frequently.
My father informed my mother to wash his clothes separately from the
rest of the family. He informed us that he was asked to do that.
mp-stories:
My father would take cooked, green chile in his lunch pail, and Dr.
Oppenheimer would frequently have apples with his lunch. They would
exchange apples and chile, frequently, and my father would say he would
really enjoy the chile. My father remembered that Dr. Oppenheimer was a
very kind and gentle man. The following family members also want to
memorialize our father: Linda G. Suazo (daughter), Thomasine Suazo
(daughter-in-law), Sr. Airman Douglas Suazo (Grand-son), Major Scott
Suazo (Grand-son), Stacy Suazo (Grand-daughter-in-law), Gary Canning
(Friend).
