Manhattan Project - Audio/Video Clips

Preparations at Tinian - Narrated by Fred J. Olivi, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret)

Preparations at Tinian: Preparing and Loading the Two Atomic Bombs for Delivery to Japan - Narrated by Fred J. Olivi, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret); 20 min. VHS Vintage Documentary.

The preparation and loading of the two atom bombs "Little Boy" and "Fat Man" on Tinian Island in the Pacific, as well as the dropping of "Fat Man" on Nagasaki are documented in this vintage film.  Shown in the film are the B-29 "Enola Gay", which dropped the "Little Boy" bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and the B-29 "Bockscar" which dropped the "Fat Man" bomb on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945.  Fred J. Olivi, who narrates this film, was a 23 year old Army Air Corps pilot when he flew as co-pilot of the B-29 "Bockscar" on the historic mission to Nagasaki.

Some of the vintage film is in both black & white and color.  It is all original 509th Composite Group official footage and some portions of the film are of somewhat poor quality.  Excellent footage of "Bockscar" backing up under her own power (only the 15 B-29's assigned to the 509th had this capability) over the bomb pit containing "Fat Man".  Also, excellent color footage of the Enola Gay returning from the Hiroshima mission.

NOTE: Lt. Col. Fred Olivi passed away on April 8, 2004.

War on Terror Video Clip

This 50+ sec. video clip tells it all.  This is the "War on Terror" video clip that you have heard so much about but can't find.  We used to have this video on our web site but found that it was too graphic for some people.

This video was recorded from an Apache gunship in Iraq.  The video clip opens with 3 members of Al-Qaida attempting to rig an explosive device in an abandoned tractor sitting along a highway.  These are the types of explosives that have been killing & wounding so many American soldiers recently.  What the Al-Qaida terrorists don't realize is that their every move is being recorded.  You will hear the forward air controller giving the commands to the airman manning the 30mm cannon aboard the Apache helicopter.  In each instance he tells the gunner to 'take him out'.  One by one the terrorists are sent to meet Allah in a hail of 30mm cannon shells.  The video is taken at night using a night-vision lens.  The audio is very clear and compelling.  This is a video clip that you will want to share.  This .avi video clip is 1.75MB in size.
