2005 Manhattan Project Reunion at Oak Ridge

Letter from the desk of your Executive Director:

Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for attending the Oak Ridge Reunion. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. We were so busy we didn’t get to do much, but the time we had with all of you certainly made up for it.

There was so much to see and do. Hopefully you got to do the things that were important to you!

I was delighted to put faces with the names I have come to know so well. Now it means even more to me to preserve your history.

It took a great deal of planning to do the events that we personally had for you and I think most of you realize that. We had to cut back on some things because we didn’t have as many volunteers as we had hoped for. But it gets better each time we have an event. We were not given information on the other events and that made it very difficult to assist you. We will not allow that to happen again.

Some of you went to unbelievable efforts to attend this event. It really touched our hearts.

We would appreciate any pictures that you took of the event. We will post as many as we can. If you look further down this page you will see some of the photos that we have already received.

Thank you so much for the memorabilia that we received while we were at Oak Ridge and the words of encouragement and advice.

We will begin sending membership cards to all of you that have renewed your membership or become new members since January 1st of this year. Always remember to give us any change of address so we can stay in touch.

Again, with your help we can make a difference. The world should not be allowed to forget those who serve their country.

Thanks again,

Joy Vickio

We received close to 200 photos taken at this year's reunion.  It took a long time to catalog them, add who they were from, and identify some of the participants.  The digital images take up a lot of space on our web server and for those of you still using "dial-up" connections, it may take some time for them to be downloaded into your computer's memory so that they may be viewed.

Once they are downloaded, you will see a green circle in the upper right of the screen.  Clicking on this will start the slide show.  There are 125 slides in the show.  You may also click on "Preview" or "Film Strip" in the upper left of the screen to see thumbnail images.  To view the slide show, please click on the link below.
