If you see a picture of World War II Oak Ridge, you are almost certainly looking at the work of Ed Westcott.

Ed Westcott is shown above in front of a new display of his work at the American Museum of Science and Energy at Oak Ridge.  May 19, 2001 was designated as Ed Westcott Day in Oak Ridge.  Ed Westcott still serves as an expert consultant to the AMSE museum and other historic institutions, and is as avid a photographer as ever.  He was presented with a plaque with the following inscription:

James Edward Westcott

Official Photographer of the Manhattan Project

Awarded in recognition of a lifetime of service to the United States of America through his efforts to record one of the most critical eras in the history of the world.  May future generations learn from the experience of their forbears and use that knowledge well in the preservation of freedom.
