The Manhattan Project Heritage Preservation Association, Inc.

"Preserving, Exhibiting, Interpreting and Teaching the History of the Manhattan Project"

New Material Wanted

The purpose of our organization is to teach the history of the Manhattan Project through exposing the student and life-long learner to a wide variety of primary source documents.  Primary source documents for educational purposes include photos, documents, letters, oral histories, etc.

We are interested in any primary source document related to any and all aspects of the Manhattan Project between 1942 and 1947, including Operation Crossroads in 1946.  Before donating any mementos that may be in your possession to museums or local historical societies, please consider donating them to our organization for the following reasons.  Museums and historical societies do not have the physical space to display your items and therefore it is unlikely that anyone will ever see them.  The purpose of preserving memorabilia is not only to archive it and put it in a box, but to make sure that the general public has access to it.

That is what we do and we do it very well.  We will have more than 500,000 visitors to our digital library in 2004.

If you wish to hold onto your mementos, please consider sending them to us for digitizing.  We will scan the items, enhance and optimize them for the Internet, and return them to you without delay.  If you wish to scan them yourself, or have someone like Kinko's do it for you, please have them scanned at 150 dpi (dots per inch) and in a .jpg format.

If you wish to have your material included in one of our new 'collections', please include a short biography of the veteran and any additional information that you want presented on the web site.

If you have any questions, please contact us as soon as possible.
