Lyman C. Brenneman Collection

Oak Ridge Special Engineer Detachment (K-25 Power Plant)

Lyman C. Brenneman's first assignment with the Manhattan Project was as an SED assigned first to Columbia University and then later to the Kellex Gaseous Diffusion Pilot Plant in Jersey City, NJ.  In January 1945 he was transferred to Oak Ridge and ended up being one of only two military men assigned to the mammoth steam generating plant.
