Jack Brand Collection

Jack Brand's participation in the Manhattan Project began in early 1943 when, as a DuPont employee, he was assigned to the Metallurgical Laboratory at the University of Chicago.  In July of 1943, he was transferred to the X-10 facility at Oak Ridge.  On May 1, 1944, Jack was promoted to Superintendent of Instruments for X-10.  Please read his memoirs about working on the Manhattan Project below.  (Note: Jack and his lovely wife Dot attended our 60th anniversary reunion this past June)
