Col. Berton H. Burns Collection

Col. Berton Burns had a fabulous career with the Air Force, first with the 40th Bomb Group in the China, Burma, India Theater; then as Controller of Maintenance for the 58th Bomb Wing on Tinian Island; then as a pilot with Operation Crossroads; then as a Senior Atomic Certified Pilot; and finally as Commanding Officer of the 509th Composite Group at Pease AFB in New Hampshire.  The below images were provided to us by Irene Mann, the daughter of Col. Burns.
