T/3 William R. Stewart Collection

Special Engineer Detachment - Los Alamos/Operation Crossroads

T/3 William Stewart was assigned to the Special Engineer Detachment in the Explosives Group at Los Alamos under George Kistiakowski.  He was heavily involved in the first atomic test at the Trinity Site and was later assigned to Joint Task Force 1 at Operation Crossroads in 1946.  William Stewart passed away in August 2003.  The below items were provided to us by William's brother, Alan Stewart.
