Marvin Davis Sr. Collection

Los Alamos Mounted Military Police

Marvin Davis, Sr. was one of the first men to arrive at Los Alamos in April 1943 as part of the initial contingent of military police.  This first group was the 1st Military Police Detachment - Mounted and originated at Fort Riley, Kansas.  The first contingent of 100 or so men traveled through Camp Wolters, Texas on their way to Los Alamos.  Mr. Davis was also a member of the first 12-man group that traveled to the Trinity Test Site to establish a secure test zone.  Mr. Davis has graciously submitted the below referenced photos and documents to help students and researchers better understand the history of the military police detachment at Los Alamos
