This rare 3-page document is Special Order #90 dated April 5, 1943. Notice at the top it is marked 'Secret' and indicates Camp Wolters, Texas. What makes this document especially interesting is that it represents the first security contingent to arrive on "The Hill" at Los Alamos: Provisional Military Police Detachment #1. The group primarily comprised the 1st and 2nd platoons - mounted. The group originated at Fort Riley, KS. They proceeded to Camp Wolters, TX for a few days and then on to Los Alamos. Page 3 of 3. |
