This rare document is Special Order #177 issued by the Army Service Force, United States Engineer Office, P.O. Box 1539, Santa Fe, NM. It is signed by N. E. Davis, Major, Corps of Engineers. This "restricted" order , dated December 28, 1944, authorizes the transfer of the first twelve (12) men from Los Alamos (Site Y) to the Trinity Site near Alamogordo, NM. The Men: Richard O'Meara, 1st Sgt.; S/Sgt Sam Barnett and Sgt Marvin Davis of the 1st Guard Section; S/Sgt Carl Dirksen and Sgt Daniel Shotel of the 2nd Guard Section; S/Sgt Reno Moses and Sgt Omer Loyd of the 3rd Guard Section; PFC George Fechner, Cook; PFC Richard Coleman and PFC Carlo Silveri of the Stable Crew; PFC Abel Tavares and PVT Rex Harris. |
