Sgt. Abe Spitzer Collection

Sgt. Abe Spitzer was the radio operator
regularly assigned to The Great Artiste and on the B-29 'Bockscar' on its
historic mission to drop a second atomic bomb on the Japanese city of
Nagasaki. The image collections below
contain the personal diary of Abe Spitzer while on Tinian Island, a copy
of the official orders authorizing the Hiroshima mission, and other photos
and documents. This wonderful collection of 509th Composite Group
memorabilia
